The Holy Empire of Reunion and the Royal State of Choconia, guided by a desire to strengthen and develop and secure relations between our two countries in accordance with the purposes and principles outlined below, have agreed as follows:

Article I

Choconia and Reunion, having already established diplomatic relations with each other on the day this

Agreement enters into force and will exchange diplomatic representatives as soon as possible. The parties to this agreement [henceforth to be known as ‘The Treaty of Java’] agree that principles of goodwill, faith, mutual interest and advantage of both nations should guide all future relations between our nations, and avoid any debate which could result in embarrassment, and discontent between the aforementioned nations; That all future relations between our nations should be conducted primarily in the English language.

Article I[a]

Whereas the terms mentioned in Article I shall be carried out by both nations without exception of individual, party or place. The terms will be binding and perpetual between our nations.

Article I[b]

Whereas the terms stipulated in Article I[a] do not apply to any Independent Press Source with the aforementioned nations.

Article II

The two contracting parties grant mutually the liberty of having consuls, vice-consuls, and agents in the ports and cities of the other whose functions shall be regulated by a later agreements, with consulates/embassies to be founded in both nations as soon as possible.

Article II[a]

Whereas the Consular Officers and foreign nationals shall not surrender their rights, liberties and privileges upon entering either of the aforementioned nations.

Article III

Whereas it appears that a state of war exists between either of the aforementioned nations and another nation, the aforementioned nation not participating in the war should sincerely and with good faith adopt and pursue a friendly and impartial attitude to the warring nations.

Article IV

And I do hereby also make known, that citizens of our nation shall render theirselves liable to punishment or forfeiture under the laws of our nations, by committing, aiding, or abetting hostilities against any of the aforementioned nations, or by carrying to any of them those articles which are

deemed contraband by the modern usage of nations, will not receive the protection of our, against such punishment or forfeiture; and further, that I have given instructions to those officers, to whom it belongs, to cause prosecutions to be instituted against all persons, who shall, within the powers of the courts of our, violate the law of nations.

Article IV[a]

All subjects, citizens, and inhabitants of the aforementioned nations shall be permitted to travel in all safety and freedom and to any location, provided that they shall not be carrying arms and instruments of war for the aid of enemies to both or either of the parties to this treaty, if this sacred trust is broken, all rights privileges and civil liberties be suspended until the event of a fair and impartial trial.

Article IV[b]

Whereas if the crimes mentioned in Articles IV, IV[a] of this Treaty be committed within their native land, than that person shall immediately be surrendered to the authorities of the other nation.

Article IV[c]

Whereas crimes outlined in Articles IV ,IV[a] that have been committed before the signing of this Treaty shall be awarded a full and unconditional pardon.

Article V

The Holy Empire of Reunion recognises that all persons are free to determine their own destinies and that the citizens of the Royal State of Choconia had the right to enter and leave Reunion as of their own choosing, in return, the Royal State of Choconia agrees to withdraw statements made in the past concerning their arrival, stay and departure as citizens of the Holy Empire of Reunion.

Article V[a]

Whereas no amendments shall be made to Article V after the signing of the Treaty.

Article VI

The present treaty shall be ratified on both sides and the ratification shall be exchanged in the space of one months counting from the day of the signature. To ensure commitment and as sign of faith, the Treaty of Java will be signed by two members of each nation.

Article VI[a]

This Agreement enters into force upon signature.

In testimony whereof, I have caused the seal of my nation to be affixed to these declarations, and signed the same with my hand and that of another of my nation. Done at the city of Java, the ________ day of ________, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-eight.

Dear Chancellor,
Dearest Emperor,

   I first must apologise for letting you unanswered for so long. I had several duties in my college,
so I didn't have time to write. I hope this do not damage relations between the Holy Empire of
Reunion and the Kingdom of Porto Claro.
   Second, I deeply appreciate your letters, and, among the other micronations which recognized
Our New Revolutionary Government as the legitimate one, the Empire is certainly on the top of
importance rank. Reunion is, for Us, a nation which should be considered Our Sister.
   The Relationship between Reunion and PC has always been good, excellent at most, if we
ignore a brief period of held-up relations due to a terrible 'green' administration in Our Country.
It is time, however, to recover those good conversations and establish Ourselves as definitively
Sister Nations.
   Of course we have already recognize You as Our pretensely-ally nation and would like to request
the Holy Empire to make it official by signing a formal alliance of friendship, sisterhood,
mutual defense, common policies (whatever they may be) and give a couple steps in what may
futurely become somewhat a kind of Union.
   Our Monarchies have been friendly dealing with each other, and We deeply please it, and wish it
to become more profound than ever by inviting Your Imperial Majesty to a state visit in Porto Claro,
specially to the city of S�o Herculano (Our Royal Capital) where He may be able to formally sign
this alliance with Our King Jo�o II Marcelo and make us more advanced in the process of Union,
now forever.
