Revolution strikes at theRepublic of Porto Claro. Rebelled against an inactive government, portoclarians seek help by the Holy Empire of Réunion, which has just proclaimed, upon request, that the micronation founded in 1992 is now protected State of the Empire. All currenty government officials are being sent to exile, and Réunion was offered by revolutionary forces the choice to convert Porto Claro into a Captaincy. Emperor Claudio denies that option "out of respect for Porto Claro's history", and declares that Porto Claro is to remain a sovereign and autonomous domain of the Empire, in the hands of portoclarians which are loyal to the principles over which the nation was founded.

The Holy Empire has joined the United Micronations Organization. Sponsored by the friendly nation of Finismund, Réunion is now a proud member of that organization. Membership has been confirmed by Ian van de Kaap, the man in charge of new memberships within UNCMN.

The Annual Meeting of Réunians held in a Rio de Janeiro Barbecue House was a great success. All the pictures of the meeting are available HERE and HERE. Emperor Claudio has been elected Secretary General of the League of Secessionist States, and has entered office May 1st, 2009. Promises new website for the thirty-year-old micronational League for next July. The first draft was presented to the General Asembly.

Lord Protector Rodrigo Rocha has inaugurated Réunion's Open Micronational Forum , a place for non-portuguese speakers to interact with the Réunian people. Many visitors are expected, since the CHANDON Mailing List is portuguese only, which makes interaction really diffcult.

Réunion has joined two very important micronational Leagues that were targeted by Chancellor Wallace Rangel's new diplomatic policy, which is against isolation and for integration amongst all the linguistic sectors: The Organization of Polish Micronations (OPM) and the Grand Unified Micronational (GUM). Ambassadors to both leagues are to be appointed.

Flavio Miranda is the new Premier of The Empire, as of June 16th. Miranda is a member of the PSD (Social Democratic Party), and is to form cabinet soon.

The Reunian Bank, CID, is to issue the first Cifra Coins. Designer Diesley Moreira says the coins will be in two colours, and will represent the value of ONE CIFRA. Emperor Claudio is to approve the layout in person.

Réunion supports the Kingdom of Apiya to become a member of the League of Secessionist States. Same was done with the Viking Empire of Stormark, The Kingdom of Finismund and The Cisalpine Republic.

The Holy Empire is to issue its first passports, which were ordered at the " INDY MAGNOLY " company. Expectations are for 66 passports to be issued, only to interested citizens that have been in Réunion for at least 1 year.

The Distinguished Imperial Council of State has approved and decreed the creation of the "Imperial Philatelical Society". Renan Levy Saifal appointed President, and promises first stamps to be issued by July, 2009.
